FAQs with Rose

“I challenge my clients in a very supportive way to address blocks to peace, connection, and love that are present in their lives.”

What was your Path to Becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor?

Starting as a young child, I was drawn to others. I have always enjoyed hearing people's stories and found it natural to provide comfort, even to adults around me. I have a liberal studies undergraduate degree with an emphasis in anthropology and, after graduating, I began working in the mental health field as a case manager and substance abuse counselor. Seeing people transform their lives and being a part of their journeys has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life. It was natural for me to continue on to get my master’s degree and become a therapist.

What should someone know about working with you?

I am passionate about working with diverse populations and creating strong, meaningful connections. I challenge my clients in a very supportive way to address blocks to peace, connection, and love that are present in their lives. Clients I work with often make meaningful, lasting changes.

What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?

I have a passion for learning and always improving my skills. Currently, I am in the process of becoming certified in EMDR. I also am deepening my knowledge of emotionally focused therapy. Consulting with other therapists allows me to stay effective and highly ethical in my clinical practice.

How do your own core values shape your approach to care?

I deeply value creating a trauma-informed and healing-centered practice. I welcome and honor diversity and each client's unique life experiences. I ensure that the people I serve feel seen, understood, and honored in our work together.

She is able to meld the programmatic with the personal, to help our staff not only feel better prepared to do their jobs, but to also feel better about how they do that work! By weaving trauma-informed and client-centric approaches into all of her efforts, her work with us has made our team more skilled, more empathetic, and more confident in our work.
